The St. Xavier’s School Malda, was established in the Year 1977, with the object to provide the practical and concrete shape of some of the educational ideas of the renowned educationists of our country. Education, in order to be effectual and fruitful, must bring about a total and integrated development of the personality of the educated. This can only be achieved when the student is brought up in a surrounding, where his body, mind and spirit can be looked after to blossom in a congenial environment. The institution is keen to give an all-round development to its pupil. The School has been affiliated to the Council for The Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) New Delhi, on 6th March 1989. In the year 1995, the Council permitted us to start classes 11 and 12 in the stream of Science, Arts and Commerce. The first batch of the students for the ISC appeared in 1997. The institution takes pride to announce that it is the first school in the District of Malda, having the distinction of introducing Computer Classes in the year 1995, for classes 4 to 10.
The object of this institution is to give an education of the Public School type, suited and adopted in the Indian background. We believe that true education should be imparted through systematic influence through discipline and instruction should be imparted through examples that aid the harmonious development of physical, intellectual, aesthetic, patriotic social and spiritual qualities of a child.
The management of this institution intends to come up with the execution of the people by providing good education and giving an opportunity to each and every child to develop his talents and blossom into full-fledged citizens of the society. Every child is provided with individual attention from the staff of the School. Great effort is put to impart an excellent education with culture and discipline to children. The motto of "EDUCATION FOR ALL” is followed relentlessly.
The management has a reputation for recruiting teachers of the highest caliber, not only from Malda but also from other places. The management, therefore, requests parents to come forward, as teachers and parents are the to sides of the same coin. Parents should instruct children at home on proper manners, etiquette and groom their talents, whereas teachers will complete their training in the School in order to make the children useful citizens of the society. Parents are expected to help the School in its growth and progress. They should not cause any damage to the School. Complaints and suggestions must be made in writing to the Principal.
The aim of the Institution is to train boys and girls for all-round development of body, mind and spirit. When boys and girls remain with their guardians they should be encouraged to follow as far as possible a daily routine of the institution. They should not be allowed to mix with bad company.
Unless co-operation is received from guardians no good effect can be expected to the formation of the character of the students. Lack of co-operation on the part of guardians may result in the failure of students to derive due benefit from this institution and thus the very purpose may be defeated for which this institution stands. In order to create a better rapport between the teachers and the guardians, "THE PARENTS-TEACHERS" meet is being organized to have a through approach to the child’s development.
We, at The St.Xavier’s School, Malda wish to ensure that education and perspective of our students are as broad and holistic as possible, their positive attitude and working habits well- developed. Your active participation will certainly help us achieve our goals.
We want that education by which character is formed, the strength of mind is increased and intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one’s own feet.
We need technical education and all else that may develop industries so that men, instead of seeking service, may earn enough to provide for themselves and save something against a rainy day. It is the man-making religion that we want. It is man-making education all round that we want.
The School is situated beside the National Highway-34 the location is known as Krishnakalitala, Gour Road, which is about 3 km away from Malda Town Railway Station and 1 km from the city bus stand. It is not only the first affiliated ICSE & ISC School of Malda District but also the only English Medium School in English Bazar Municipality.
